BAINBRIDGE/QUINCY, US: DaniMer Scientific and Myriant have formed a strategic alliance focused on delivering innovative, cost-effective bio-based materials to the marketplace. As part of the strategic alliance, DaniMer will utilize Myriant’s bio-succinic acid for the production of high-performance, bio-based polymers used to make a broad range of sustainable, eco-friendly products. According to a 2011 report by Pike Research, ‘green chemistry’ will reach a market opportunity of approximately $98 billion by 2020.
“We are delighted to formalize our alliance with DaniMer and we look forward to collaborating with them on the integration of our bio-succinic acid into their production process for eco-friendly polymers. Moreover, Myriant continues to demonstrate that our cost advantaged and innovative technology platform is setting the industry standard for the production of high-value, bio-based chemicals that seamlessly drop into chemical production processes as a reliable and cost-advantaged substitute for petroleum-based chemicals,” said Stephen J Gatto, Chairman and CEO, Myriant.
