Andrew Liveris, CEO and Chairman, Dow Chemicals
MIDLAND, US: The Dow Chemical Company, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Andrew N Liveris, has been appointed by US President Barack Obama as co-chair of the newly formed Advanced Manufacturing Partnership. Liveris will be joined by Susan Hockfield, President of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in heading the Partnership.
“I am honored to have been selected to co-chair the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership. This partnership draws together three mission critical elements: academia, industry and government. A united and non-partisan approach must underpin our effort as we mobilize to renew and extend our manufacturing competitiveness,” said Liveris at the launch ceremony at Carnegie Mellon University.
Liveris’ 35-year Dow career has spanned manufacturing, engineering, sales, marketing, and business and general management. He has been a member of Dow’s Board of Directors and CEO since 2004 and was elected as Chairman of the Board in 2006.
