The company has elected Robert Hansen as CEO of Dow Corning Corporation, while Stephanie A Burns will remain Chairman. Burns will continue to counsel and advise the company, as she plans for her retirement.
MIDLAND, US: Dow Corning board of directors elected Robert D Hansen, CEO of Dow Corning, effective immediately. Stephanie A Burns, remains chairman of the company. Hansen, 50, has been employed by Dow Corning for 29 years and was named President in November 2010 and will continue his current role.
“As the president, Bob has brought attention to creating capabilities needed to support Dow Corning’s growth. With Bob’s strong business leadership, we are confident in his ability to lead Dow Corning in a new era of global expansion, technological exploration and sustainable innovation,” said Burns.
“We’ve experienced tremendous growth in this company in the past several years. Under Stephanie’s leadership, Dow Corning has grown from a $2 billion company to a $6 billion company. Across the globe, with employees far and wide, she has reignited our passion for innovation. We are well down the path to achieving our vision because of her leadership,” said Hansen.
Hansen joined Dow Corning’s finance function in 1982, in Midland. Following many roles and positions in the company’s various locations, Hansen was named Vice President and GM of the Core Products Business in 2005 and was subsequently promoted to Executive Vice President.
