DAX, FRANCE: Derives Resiniques ET Terpeniques SA (DRT) said it has commissioned its new tall-oil bio-refinery capacity (co-product deriving from kraft pulping) on its site of Vielle-Saint-Girons, France. With a new capacity of 100,000 tonne, this unit will allow DRT to better answer the global demand, it said.
To meet the growing demand of the international markets, DRT has decided to increase its production capacities based on the new tall-oil fractionation technology. In accordance with its approach based on the valourization of co-products deriving from the paper industry, this unit aims at answering the future needs of the adhesive, coating, road marking, chewing-gum and synthetic rubber industries.
Initiated in 2014, the construction works ended in September 2015. The commissioning has been effective since the beginning of the week and has allowed to validate the optimum quality of the production. “This production capacities increase will allow DRT to secure its existing markets. The company will also reinforce its position and strengthen its relationships with customers,” said Eric Moussu, sales & marketing director, DRT.
