DELAWARE, US/JIANGSU, CHINA: DuPont recently signed two strategic cooperation agreements with Changzhou Trina Solar Energy Ltd. The agreements cover the supply of DuPont Tedlar polyvinyl fluoride films and technology collaboration, including efforts involving DuPont Solamet photovoltaic metallizations and other key materials. The companies will work together to advance the efficiency and lifetime of solar cells and modules, and lower the cost of energy for photovoltaics.

Anticipated areas of technology collaboration for Trina and DuPont include higher efficiency cells and modules, customized Solamet photovoltaic metallization pastes and other materials to help enable Trina’s technology platforms. That includes its high-efficiency honey series modules, as well as innovative framing, backsheet and other components.

“At Trina Solar, our mission is to make the world a better place by providing affordable and clean solar energy. We have set clear goals with long-term focus on performance, innovation and durability for our modules, and hold high confidence that collaborating with DuPont can accelerate our achievements,” said Jifan Gao, Chairman and CEO, Trina Solar.
