Evonik headquarters in Germany.
TSUKUBA, JAPAN: Evonik opened a new oil additives technology centre at Tsukuba, Japan on 6 May 2014. With the move from its previous location in Osaka, the technology centre has quadrupled in size, signifying Evonik’s growing commitment to its oil additives customer base in Japan and the surrounding region.
In addition to the investment at Tsukuba, a major expansion at the company’s Shanghai technology centre is underway and capacity at Evonik’s Singapore oil additives plant will soon be doubled through a major multi-year debottlenecking and expansion project.
Tsukuba’s advanced test capabilities and an expansion of its close collaboration with Evonik’s oil additives technology centers in Shanghai and North America and the company’s research center at its headquarters in Germany will bring a new level of support to Japanbased customers and OEMs. Evonik prides itself on its ability customtailor its products to the specific needs of its customers’ product development efforts.
“Evonik is strengthening its technical resources and capabilities in Asia to continue to meet the growing needs of the region. In addition to the expansion of the physical structure and capabilities, we are also growing our technical team with the addition of another employee at the Tsukuba facility,” said Wei Kiat Tan, Vice President and Asia Regional Manager, Evonik.
