ExxonMobil names senior VP Woods as new president & board member

IRVING, US: ExxonMobil Corporation said that it has elected Darren Woods (50) as its new president and member of the board of directors, effective 1 January.

Woods, currently senior VP of the corporation and a member of the management committee was elected during a meeting of the ExxonMobil board of directors.

With the addition of Woods, the ExxonMobil board is comprised of 13 directors, 11 of whom are non-employee directors.

Rex Tillerson (63) continues his position as chairman of the board and CEO of the corporation.

Woods joined Exxon Company International in 1992 as a planning analyst. He held a number of domestic and international assignments for ExxonMobil Refining & Supply Company, ExxonMobil Chemical Company and Exxon Company International and served as manager of investor relations for ExxonMobil Corp.

In 2012, he was appointed president of ExxonMobil Refining & Supply Company and a vice president of the corporation.
