VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA: Incitec Pivot Limited (IPL) has achieved a further milestone at its ammonium nitrate complex at Moranbah in Queensland’s Bowen Basin. Since July, when IPL announced the initial tonne of ammonium nitrate had been produced, using imported ammonia, the commissioning of the ammonia plant has been completed and ammonia production has now commenced.
With this milestone achieved, IPL is on track for Moranbah to produce 250,000 tonne of ammonium nitrate in its 2012/13 financial year, with 330,000 tonne of ammonium nitrate expected in its 2014/15 financial year, said the company.
