HOUSTON, US: KBR Inc has been awarded a contract to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services to Monroe Energy LLC for the company's tier 3 ultra-low-sulfur gasoline (ULSG) project at its refinery in Trainer, US.
Under the terms of the contract, KBR will execute EPC services to relocate and reconstruct an idle 60,000 barrels per day SCANfining unit from another facility to Monroe's refinery.
The work is expected to be completed next year with a planned start-up of the unit in 2017.
"We are excited to be a part of this significant project and to continue to grow and maintain a substantial presence in the northeast US region," said Stuart Bradie, KBR president and CEO. "This win highlights KBR's extensive refining capabilities and expertise and is indicative of KBR's strategic commitment to win the right work and focus on our core strengths."
