HOUSTON, US: KBR Inc has been awarded a multi-phased contract for front-end engineering and design (FEED) for the Woodfibre Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project, located near Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The contract is multi-phased and the first phase will be booked into backlog of unfilled orders for KBR’s E&C business segment the first quarter of 2016.

KBR’s Houston office will provide FEED services for the proposed 2.1 MTPA liquefaction plant and export facility. This work will include FEED optimization, pre-FEED, FEED, and development of a fixed price offer for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services.

“The award of the FEED contract to KBR ensures the Woodfibre LNG Project is engineered and designed to world-class standards, and marks another important step towards making the project a reality,” said Byng Giraud, country manager and vice president, Woodfibre LNG Ltd, the privately held Canadian company behind the Woodfibre LNG project.

“KBR has a strong track record for developing LNG projects in British Columbia and we look forward to leveraging that experience once again,” said Roy Oelking, president, KBR’s engineering & construction (E&C) Americas business.
