CLEVELAND, US: Lubrizol Corporation intends to build a resin and compounding manufacturing facility in Deer Park, TX. The additional capacity will serve Lubrizol building and construction customers on a global basis. The new plant will require a total investment of approximately $125 million over a three-year period.

To provide ongoing support to its global customers in achieving their business success, the company is launching a multi-phased CPVC capacity expansion plan beginning with a new resin and compounding facility in Texas.

After evaluation, Lubrizol determined that the efficient and effective next step is to build a new plant located adjacent to Lubrizol’s existing Deer Park additives facility. The world class facility is expected to be operational by fourth quarter 2014 and is designed to complement the company’s existing CPVC manufacturing facilities.

Lubrizol projects continued strong global growth in its CPVC business, with particularly strong demand in India and other developing economies. “By expanding our manufacturing footprint, we are ensuring changes in demand are well managed. With this additional capacity, we will be in a stronger position to serve needs of our customers globally,” said Eric Schnur, President, Advanced Materials, Lubrizol.

The company remains committed to ongoing investment in its CPVC capabilities that support future growth, in particular meeting the increased demand in South Asia and Latin America.
