MILAN, ITALY: Maire Tecnimont SpA said that its subsidiary, Tecnimont SpA, in joint venture with China HuanQiu Contracting & Engineering Corporation (HQC), has bagged a $482 million project from PRPC Polymers Sdn Bhd (PRPC Polymers), a wholly owned subsidiary of Petronas Chemicals Group. The project involves implementation of two polypropylene units for the refinery and petrochemical integrated development (RAPID) complex in Malaysia on an EPCC lump sum turn-key basis.

Maire Tecnimont is entitled to 60 percent of the contract and will provide complete engineering services, equipment and material supply, erection and construction activities.

“With this project we enter in a new promising market along with our strong strategic Chinese partner HQC, leveraging on our technology-driven approach and our distinctive competencies in managing large EPC projects in the polyolefine sector,” said Pierroberto Folgiero, chief executive officer, Maire Tecnimont.
