Merck appoints new Chief Information Officer, James Stewart

James Stewart, newly appointed Chief Information Officer, Merck Group.

DARMSTADT, GERMANY: Merck Group has appointed James Stewart as Chief Information Officer (CIO) effective from 1 October 2013. In his new position, Stewart will report to Kai Beckmann, Member of the Executive Board. Stewart succeeds Frederic Wohlwend, who has decided to pursue new opportunities outside Merck.

“We thank Frederic Wohlwend for his many years of service to our company in various leadership positions and we regret his decision to leave Merck. However, we are pleased to have appointed James Stewart, a highly qualified and experienced manager, to succeed him,” said Kai Beckmann, Executive Board Member responsible for Group Information Services, Merck.
