NAMA Chemicals to shutdown some units for unscheduled maintenance

AL-JUBAIL, SAUDI ARABIA: NAMA Chemicals announced a shutdown of some of its production units to conduct unscheduled maintenance. The maintenance will be carried for alyl alcohol plant effective from 15 March 2013 to change the existing catalyst due to its low efficiency. The shutdown is expected to continue for twenty days.

The maintenance will also be carried for ECH plant starting from 15 March 2013 due to non-availability of the feedstock from alyl alcohol plant. The shutdown is expected to continue for twenty days. The financial impact of such shutdown will appear in the first quarter of 2013. At this stage it is not possible to determine the financial impact precisely before completion of the maintenance. The company is working on mitigating this impact by increasing production in other units. Any developments in this regard will be announced later.
