STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN: Nexam Chemicals Holding AB has appointed the current Board member Mats Persson as new Chairman of the Board, effective from November 12, 2019.

To date, the Chairman of the Board Lennart Holm has informed the Board that he wishes to resign from the Board due to a lack of time, as he has undertaken a time-consuming commitment outside the company. No other changes to the Board are planned.

Mats Persson has a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering and has a long-time experience from senior management within the chemical group Perstorp and composite manufacturer Diab. At present, Mats has a limited operational interim assignment within Diab. This assignment will be completed during the first quarter of 2020.

“The Board would like to thank Lennart for his commitment and work he has put in as a long-time Chairman at Nexam Chemical. During his years as Chairman, the business has gone through a number of challenging development stages, which created the conditions for today's Nexam Chemical, fast growing and well positioned for continued success,” said Mats Persson, incoming Chairman.

“When I step down from the Board now, somewhat earlier than I thought, it feels very good to have such a qualified and motivated Board in place. As new Chairman, Mats Persson fulfills all the qualifications that can be placed on him in this role and he has also shown an incredible commitment and high work capacity. I want to thank all my colleagues and employees at Nexam Chemical for the exciting years together. Building a company in the materials industry is one of the most challenging things you can do. It has been tougher and has taken more time than we expected, but today we are over the threshold and I am sure that the Company is now facing a great stage. Then it feels good to hand over. As a major shareholder, I will continue to be very committed to Nexam Chemical,” said Lennart Holm in a comment.
