PT Nippon Shokubai opens acrylic acid,superabsorbent polymers plant

TOKYO, JAPAN: PT Nippon Shokubai Indonesia (NSI), subsidiary of Nippon Shokubai Ltd, opens new acrylic acid plant and superabsorbent polymers (SAP) plant in Cilegon, Indonesia.

SAP, one of Nippon Shokubai’s core businesses, shows steady growth of demand as a raw material of disposable diapers. Nippon Shokubai already established its production and supply network in the four key markets in Japan, America, Europe and China. With the start of the new acrylic acid and SAP plants at NSI, Nippon Shokubai group’s global acrylic acid and SAP production capacity will increase, and Nippon Shokubai will enhance its position as one of the world top suppliers of SAP.
