VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA: Nufarm Ltd said that its UK business has secured distribution rights for the Sumitomo Chemical Company range of crop protection products in the UK and Ireland. The agreement - between Nufarm UK Ltd and Sumitomo’s subsidiary, Interfarm UK Ltd - provides non exclusive distribution rights for Interfarm’s agriculture and horticulture range of products, effective 1 June.
The new distribution arrangements will result in a more efficient route to market; enhanced product development and formulation opportunities; and a stronger offering for the customers of both companies.
John Austin, general manager of Nufarm’s UK business, said the addition of the Interfarm product range will strengthen Nufarm’s position in a number of crop segments, including autumn cereal herbicides, and improve its coverage and service to distribution clients and grower customers. He said several proprietary Sumitomo products were due to be launched over coming months.
Greg Hunt, Nufarm’s chief executive officer and managing director, welcomed the new distribution arrangements, saying it represents another example of how Nufarm and Sumitomo are continuing to co-operate in ways that add value to both businesses.
