VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA: Nick Bowen will join Orica Limited as Executive Global Head Mining Services, bringing with him a strong background in the mining and mining services sector spanning over 30 years. Bowen will commence on 11 November 2013. James Bonnor, presently General Manager Mining Services Australia Pacific region, will act as Executive Global Head Mining Services until Bowen commences.

Most recently Bowen was Managing Director at Macmahon Holdings Ltd, a position he held for thirteen years. Bowen is a highly experienced senior manager with deep experience in the sector and across international operations. The appointment follows a global search to fill the role.

As announced on 28 June 2013, Craig Elkington has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer. Elkington will now commence the formal handover process with outgoing CFO Noel Meehan, who will leave Orica at the end of October.

“The appointment of Nick Bowen adds significant strength to the executive management team and his experience in the mining services sector will be invaluable in enhancing Orica’s ability to meet the needs of its customers,” said Ian Smith, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Orica.
