Perstorp extends 2- Ethylhexanoic Acid capacity in Singapore
Martin Lundin, President and CEO, Perstorp.

PERSTORP, SWEDEN: Perstorp is extending capacity for 2-EHA in Europe and Asia by establishing production at the group’s manufacturing unit in Singapore. The production is planned to start in 2013. “Increasing our capacity is in line with our strategy going forward. It also strengthens ur position in the Asian market, with production of specialty products in the region,” said Martin Lundin, President and CEO, Perstorp.

The capacity increase will be established in Europe and Asia at the group’s manufacturing unit in Singapore, where PIA is produced. Singapore is logistically well located and is now home to one of the top ten petrochemical hubs in the world.

Yearly average market growth for 2-EHA is high especially in Asia. The expansion is driven by the increased demand for 2-EHA and will amount to 40,000 MT/year, informed the company. 2-EHA is used in applications such as safety glass, synthetic lubricants and corrosion inhibitors in engine coolants and Perstorp is now producing 2-EHA in its production facility in Stenungsund, Sweden.
