PetroChina appoints new chief financial officer, Yu Yibo

HONG KONG, CHINA: PetroChina Co has appointed Yu Yibo as the new chief financial officer of the company, effective immediately, after the previous position-holder Zhou Mingchun resigned. According to the company, Zhou, who had been the firm’s chief financial officer since June 2007, will take on the chief accountant position at China State Shipbuilding Corp.

The management changes come after China formally appointed Communist Party chief Xi Jinping as the Nation’s President. Management changes typically occur every few years in China’s state-owned companies as the communist party reassigns top officials.
