CHENNAI, INDIA: Pidilite Industries aims to increase sales at its construction chemicals business to Rs 900 crore by March, group CEO Sanjay Bahadur said on Tuesday.
Pidilite offers a wide range of applications such as waterproofing, repair solutions for existing structures and tile fixing solutions. The market size of scientific waterproofing solution is Rs 2,500 crore, while that of traditional is Rs 1000 crore. Pidilite is a leader in scientific solution.
Armed with 100 R&D engineers, this division develops five innovative solutions every year. About 10 per cent of the products are exported to more than 20 countries. There are plans to step up R&D activities in Dubai and add one more unit in an emerging market
either in Asia or Africa, he said.
Pidlite plans to acquire a company in emerging Asia in a relevant field and use it as a vehicle to increase its business.
Madhukar Parekh, chairman, Pidilite inaugurated Dr Fixit Experience Centre in Chennai. It is aimed at showcasing modern and latest waterproofing solutions for architects, builders and contractors.
