PPG launches extended performance clearcoat for larger repairs
P190-6950 extended performance clearcoat is an easy-to-use clearcoat best suited for larger repairs and expressly engineered for use over Aquabase Plus waterborne basecoat.

STRONGSVILLE, US: PPG Industries’ automotive refinish business has launched P190-6950 extended performance clearcoat, an easy-to-use clearcoat best suited for larger repairs and expressly engineered for use over Aquabase Plus waterborne basecoat. The new clearcoat is part of the Nexa Autocolor product line.

It is derived from the same resin technology that provides the popular P190-6930 performance clearcoat with unique capabilities and attributes, such as superior flow and levelling characteristics. For production efficiency, P190-6950 features a simple mix ratio and uses the same hardeners and thinners as P190-6930. The result is a clearcoat that delivers unrivalled gloss and exceptional appearance on multipanel repairs and overall paint jobs with no polishing required.

P190-6950 extended performance clearcoat can be sprayed in all booth conditions, including extreme temperature and humidity, when used with P850-69XX reducers or Nexa Autocolor 2K P850-16XX thinners. In addition, this premium clear is compliant in all US and Canadian refinish markets.

“This is a remarkable premium clearcoat. P190-6950 is a perfect match for PPG collision centers that use our Aquabase Plus waterborne system. It's proven technology ensures outstanding gloss retention and a luxurious appearance. We’re confident that our customers will find that this new clearcoat gives them unsurpassed quality and a significant production advantage,” said Tim Jones, automotive refinish segment manager for PPG.
