PUNE, INDIA: Praj industries ltd said that it has been selected by Ingenuity Tabacal, a subsidiary of Seaboard Corp, to provide technology in expansion of Tabacal’s bioethanol refinery in the Salta province, Argentina.

After evaluation of various technologies in Europe, Brazil etc, Tabacal selected Praj on the basis of the solution of lower energy consumption, its experience in the region and its ability to execute projects, the company said.

Argentina has an ambitious programme of ethanol, with a current mandate of 10 percent, which probably will increase in the near future, Praj said.

“This contract serves as the reference for Praj 60a in the region and is a clear preference for technology and solutions of Praj,” said Pramod Chaudhari, CEO, Praj industries, while he is talking about the 5th Latin American conference on sugar and ethanol in Mexico City.

To this ethanol plant 800 m3 / day, efficient technology used Praj distillation and molecular sieve dehydration, using low pressure exhaust steam achieve savings of 50-60 percent. Tabacal, Praj also collaborates with the modernization of the production plant to bring alcohol and ethanol processing modules fermentation, distillation and stillage in order to achieve global standards, it said.
