Praxair acquires CO2 purification plant in US

DANBURY, US: Praxair Inc said that it has acquired and operate a 300 tonnes per day carbon dioxide (CO2) purification and liquefaction plant from PureCO2 LP. Owned by Ferus LP, PureCO2 is a producer and distributor of liquefied food- and beverage-quality CO2, located in Price, Utah, US.

The acquired plant will serve customers throughout the region in a variety of end-markets, including food and beverage, metal fabrication and water treatment.

“The addition of this facility to Praxair’s network of CO2 plants will further enable us to serve a growing customer base within the greater Salt Lake region, particularly in the food and beverage segment,” said Armando Botello, VP, west region for Praxair’s US industrial gases business.

“PureCO2 customers will continue to receive the innovative technology and world-class customer service from Praxair that they have come to expect. We are pleased that Praxair will continue to deliver a stable and reliable supply of carbon dioxide to customers and build on PureCO2’s rich history of service,” said Tyler Dahlseide, VP, Ferus LP.
