Praxair China supplies combustion technology to Shandong Steel Mill

SHANGHAI, CHINA: Praxair China Investment Co Ltd has signed a combustion equipment contract with Shandong Guangfu Group Co Ltd to implement the Praxair proprietary oxy-fuel technology for this new customer, one of the leading steel and iron enterprises in Shandong province, North China.

Compared with the conventional lance systems, Praxair’s technology enables the customers in steel and non-ferrous metal industries to get improved operation safety and environmental protection, cost saving and increased productivity.

Under the contract, one set of Praxair’s gas injection system including three oxygen gas injectors and other related equipment will be installed at the 100-tonne electric arc furnace of the steel mill of Shandong Guangfu Group.

“It’s very encouraging to see our combustion technology adopted by a new customer in North China region. We have full confidence in rapid and smooth replications of the technology in China in the years to come that will provide effective support to the productivity improvement, energy efficiency and environmental protection endeavors of Chinese steel companies,” said Dr Minda Ho, President, Praxair China.
