Praxair India Private Limited New Business Agreement With JSW Steel

KALAMESHWAR/TARAPUR, INDIA: Praxair India Private Limited, a subsidiary of Praxair Inc, has signed two long-term contracts with JSW Steel, to operate small on-site nitrogen plants in support of the company’s expansion efforts in the cities of Kalameshwar and Tarapur, Maharashtra, India. The nitrogen will be used in the manufacturing processes for both cold rolled and galvanized steel at these locations.

Praxair is also finalizing construction of a nitrogen plant for EPCOS India Private Ltd, a part of TDK-EPC Corporation, a manufacturer of passive electronic components such as soft ferrites and inductive components in Kalyani, West Bengal. In addition, Praxair recently started up a small nitrogen plant for United Phosphorus Ltd, a global agrochemicals company in Jhagadia, Gujarat.

“Praxair’s small on-site plants provide flexibility and supply reliability for our customers, enabling them to focus on their core offerings rather than their industrial gas requirements. Applications technologies provided by Praxair also support our customers in their efforts to be more energy efficient, increase productivity, improve environmental performance and optimize costs. Customers with smaller gas requirements who want to outsource their industrial gas needs have found Praxair’s small on-site plants provide them with the right solution,” said Anuj Sharma, Managing Director, Praxair India.
