BEIJING, CHINA: Indiscernible quality and counterfeiting has long plagued China’s paint industry and the public is weary of every product in the market. Big names in the sector including Nippon Paint and Dulux were both recently found by watchdogs with quality problems. Quality checks by local authorities in Mongolia recently also revealed quality problems with products of Dulux and Carpoly. Fake paint was even found to be sold in the specialty shops of Nippon Paint’s products. Meanwhile, fake products using the names of big brands were found produced and sold in the market.
