Sahara declared signing the shareholders agreement with Maaden to build CA-EDC complex and an off take agreement to supply Maaden with the whole produced quantity of the concentrated caustic soda. JUBAIL, SAUDI ARABIA: As per an earlier announcement by Saharas, published in Tadawul on 30 November 2010, Sahara declared signing an agreement with Saudi Arabian Minding Company (Maaden). The project will be financed through SIDF and commercial banks loans. As per a shareholders agreement - Sahara Petrochemicals Company and Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden) will build CA-EDC complex in Sahara Petrochemicals Company site located in Jubail Industrial City with an investment of $ 750 million. Additionally, signing an off take agreement, the two companies agreed that Sahara will supply all the produced quantity of concentrated caustic soda to Maaden to be utilized in its alumina refinery project in Ras Alzur. The project capacity is 250,000 tpa of concentrated caustic soda and 300,000 tpa of EDC. Sahara and Maaden shall hold 50 per cent of the projects capital for each. The project shall utilize UHDEs technology of Germany and will be completed by the 4th quarter of 2012. © WOC News
