JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA: Sasol Chief Executive Pat Davies has been awarded an honorary fellowship of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) in the UK for his contribution to the profession of chemical engineering through his leadership at Sasol.

IChemE is the global professional body for chemical, biochemical and process engineers. IChemE honorary fellowships are given to individuals from the chemical and process industries that have made significant contributions to the field. An honorary fellowship is the most prestigious award bestowed by the institution.

“With this award IChemE has recognised that through his various leadership roles throughout his time at Sasol, Davies has provided opportunities for the profession of chemical engineering and processing to grow and develop. He also met the technical and business challenges he identified and engaged in,” said Dr David Brown, Chief Executive, IChemE.

“It is especially an honour to receive this award during the International Year of Chemistry 2011 when the world celebrates the achievements of chemistry and its contributions to the well-being of humankind,” said Davies.
