Saudi Kayan starts commercial production at Jubail detergents plant

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA: Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Co, the Sabic affiliate, said last week that it has started commercial operations at its natural alcohol (detergent) Al Jubail manufacturing plant and that the plant will produce 50,000 tonne of detergent per year.

The plant sales and associated costs will be reflected in income statements as of June 4, Omar Bin Abdullah Al Amoudi, chairman said.

In August 2011, Saudi Kayan had signed a contract with China’s Sinopec to build the natural alcohol plant in Jubail Industrial city. The facility was put on a trial run in June 2014, it said.
