BATON ROUGE, US: The Shaw Group announced that it has signed a new contract with Arizona Public Service Co (APS) to provide maintenance and construction services to eight fossil power plants in Arizona and New Mexico. The fossil contract is in addition to Shaw’s contract with APS to provide maintenance, modifications, construction and radiological protection services to its Palo Verde nuclear generating station, located 55 miles west of Phoenix, Arizona.
The undisclosed value of the three-year contract will be included in Shaw’s plant services segment’s backlog of unfilled orders in the second quarter of fiscal year 2012. “With the addition of fossil fleet services, we are continuing to develop a strong alliance with APS to help them safely and efficiently generate electricity for long term. Our successful model of directly managing projects, which embeds Shaw’s vertically integrated services, will help seamlessly meet the evolving needs of our client,” said Ron McCall, President, Plant Services Division, Shaw.
