BATON ROUGE, US: The Shaw Group has formed an exclusive alliance with Total Petrochemicals to jointly market and license Total Petrochemicals’ polystyrene technology on a worldwide basis. Shaw had a similar alliance with Total Petrochemicals for styrene monomer, the primary feedstock for polystyrene, for 15 years. The polystyrene technology of Total Petrochemicals’ has been used in the design of more than 45 polystyrene production units located in 25 sites in 20 countries around the world for a global capacity of 2,500 kilo tonne per annum.
“Shaw will assist both existing licenses and potential new clients in development projects for new polystyrene manufacturing facilities and modernizations to existing facilities all over the world. In addition to marketing the technology, we look forward to bringing our expertise with basic engineering packages and engineering, procurement and construction services to these projects,” said James Glass, President, Energy & Chemicals, Shaw Group.
