Sika acquires two waterproofing membrane manufacturers

BAAR, SWITZERLAND: Sika is acquiring JMTexsa, SA de CV of Mexico and Texsa India Ltd, two leading manufacturers of waterproofing membranes. Sika has signed an agreement to this effect with the French industrial group Soprema. The acquisitions strengthen Sika’s growth strategy and accelerate the expansion in emerging market and also gains market access to the important roofing and waterproofing markets in Mexico and India.

“These acquisitions enable us to further accelerate our growth strategy in the emerging markets. We gain two established production sites and obtain an excellent foundation for the development of the promising Mexican and Indian markets,” said Jan Jenisch, CEO, Sika.
