Sinopec Engineering bags three contracts in Thailand and China

BEIJING, CHINA: Sinopec Engineering (Group) Co Ltd and its subsidiaries said they recently signed three contracts in Thailand and China.

The group signed a polypropylene (PP) compound engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract, located in Rayong, Thailand, with Thailand IRPC Public Company Ltd.

As per the contract, valued $220 million (approx RMB1.366 billion), Sinopec will build a 120 kilo tonne per annum (ktpa) green field PP compound plant and to upgrade and expand an existing polypropylene line from 225 ktpa to 385 ktpa.

The commissioning of the plant shall be in May 2017. The Thailand project is Sinopec’s first EPCC project in the refinery and petrochemical engineering market in Thailand and it contributes great value to the group’s market expansion in Thailand and Southeast Asia, the company said.

Sinopec’s subsidiary, Sinopec Beihai Liquefied Natural Gas Co Ltd signed the Guangxi LNG EPC contract for Guangxi liquefied natural gas receiving terminal station project, located in Beihai, Guangxi. Sinopec will provide EPC services for four 160 thousand cubic metre full containment storage tanks, LNG dock unloading facility, LNG processing system, natural gas output and measurement unit and other auxiliary system.

The Guangxi LNG project has receiving capacity of 3 million tonne per annum and gas supplying capacity of 4.05 billion cubic metre per annum and the contract value of the Guangxi LNG contract is RMB 4.705 billion.

Lastly the group’s subsidiary Sinopec Tianjin Liquefied Natural Gas Co Ltd signed the Tianjin LNG framework agreement for EPC for Tianjin LNG receiving terminal station project, located in Binhai New District, Tianjin.

Sinopec’s EPC services is for four 160 thousand cubic metre full containment storage tanks, LNG dock unloading facility, LNG processing system, natural gas output and measurement unit, ground re-treatment and other auxiliary system.

The Tianjin LNG project has receiving capacity of 3 million tonne per annum and gas supplying capacity of 4 billion cubic meters per annum and the value of the Guangxi LNG agreement is RMB 5.600 billion.
