Sinopec names senior VP Dai as new president, director

BEIJING, CHINA: Sinopec Group said that it has appointed Dai Houliang as the company’s new president, director and vice party chief, replacing Wang Tianpu, former president of Sinopec, who was detained last year on alleged corruption charges. 

Dai is a professor-level senior engineer with a doctor’s degree. In the last decade, he served as a senior VP and CFO of Sinopec Corp. He started his Sinopec management experience in 1997 as the deputy managing director of Yangzi Petrochemical Corp, a subsidiary Sinopec. He held several positions within Yangzi Petrochemical Corp. Recently, he was appointed as a member of the party committee of China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group).
