Sinopec starts diesel hydrogenation project construction


BEIJING, CHINA: Sinopec Zhanjiang Dongxing 2 million tpa diesel hydrogenation project started construction on March 26. This project employs the liquid-phase cycling hydrogenation process with planned total investment of RMB 357 million and annual operating time of 8,400 hours. Sinopec Luoyang Petrochemical Engineering Company is the EPC contractor of the project which is expected to achieve mechanical completion on December 30, 2010 and be put in operation in March, 2012.

It is estimated that the project, after being put in operation, can produce 1.97 million tons of GB IV standard diesel annually, which can meet the state’s requirements on quality upgrading of diesel for vehicles and further enhance our oil products supply capacity in southern China.
