Solvay opens vanillin production facility in China

LYON, FRANCE/SHANGHAI, CHINA: Solvay Aroma Performance, a business unit of Solvay Group said it has opened its new state-of-the-art facility to manufacture vanillin in Zhenjiang’s city, in China Jiangsu province. This facility helps in boosting the company’s production capacity by 40 percent, to meet the fast-growing Asian market.

Adding the new plant in Zhenjiang, the company increases significantly its production capacity in vanillin and provides an efficient response to the expanding demand for vanillin in Asia.

This new unit is operating since July 2015 and offers a unique, sustainable and global industrial fully integrated vanillin platform, spread over three continents, and controls the entire production chain, from making the raw material catechol to flagship end products like Rhovanil vanillin.

“With this strategic development, we continue to lead the market as a reference supplier, helping our customers to benefit from our expertise in aroma ingredients, vanillin and vanilla flavours,” said Dominique Rage, president, Solvay Aroma Performance.
