ULSAN, KOREA: Songwon Industrial Co Ltd, the global number two supplier of polymer additives, has appointed Anas Nowarah as Sales, Technical Service & Marketing Manager for the Middle East & Africa region, effective July 1, 2012. Nowarah will be responsible for capitalizing on the growth potential in the region and providing technical support to customers.

In December 2011, Songwon acquired Additives Technology Greiz (ATG) in Germany. The company also announced a series of OPS manufacturing and commercial JV’s to be located in Abu Dhabi and Bahrain. The first manufacturing facility is scheduled to be on stream during 2013, followed by the second in 2014. Both facilities will have an initial capacity of 7.500 metric tonne.

“In creating this position, we are reflecting the dynamics of our customers. Thermoplastic production is increasing in the region which is driving demand for greater volumes of a wider range of additive products. Nowarah brings with him valuable experience and with him leading the efforts, we will meet the challenges of this important market,” said Peter Fleming, Regional Director, Middle East & Africa, Songwon.
