BRUSSELS, BELGIUM: Tessenderlo Group has signed an agreement to acquire the BT Bautechnik Group, which includes BT Impex GmbH and BTH Fitting KFT. BT has built a strong position by manufacturing and supplying fittings for a broad customer base in the European plastic pipe industry from its production sites in Germany and Hungary. BT generated approximately 20 million revenue in 2010 and has 125 employees. This transaction is subject to regulatory approval in Germany. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

BT offers a large range of premium fittings, especially large diametre polyvinyl chloride and polypropylene fittings, based on core injection-moulding technology.

“BT has been a trusted supplier to us for many years. Adding BT’s activities to ours will provide an enlarged product portfolio to our customers, create a stronger presence in Central and Eastern Europe and enhance our storm water management offering,” said Albert Vasseur, Director of Plastics Converting, Tessenderlo.
