ThyssenKrupp bags ZapSibNeftechim’s contract in Russia

ESSEN, GERMANY: ThyssenKrupp plant construction business won a front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for a single-train polypropylene plant in May 2012. The plant will be built for ZapSibNeftechim LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sibur, the biggest Russian gas processing and petrochemicals group. The plant will have a design capacity of 500,000 tonne per year, is to be built in Tobolsk, Tyumen Region, in West Siberia.

The polypropylene plant will be based on LyondellBasell’s Spheripol process, the most widely used technology for the production of polypropylene. The Tobolsk plant will produce a wide range of polypropylene brands for use, for example, in textile and packaging applications as well as in the production of automotive body parts and consumer goods.
