Tosoh to manufacture and sell new cleaning solvent

TOKYO, JAPAN: Tosoh Corporation will commence the manufacture and sale of a new industrial cleaning solvent that it has developed independently at its Nanyo Complex in Shunan, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The new cleaning solvent, HA-IS16, is an environmental friendly, non-halogen, nonflammable cleaning solvent that boasts superior cleaning, drying, recovery, and safety properties.

Tosoh has decided to end sales of its bromine-based NFS series of cleaning solvents because of industry’s increasing replacement of such solvents with more environmental friendly substitutes. Sales of the NFS series are scheduled to end by 31 December 2013. The company continues to develop the cleaning solvent market with its high-performance, hydrocarbon-based HC series, which enjoys a strong reputation.
