Uhde Inventa-Fischer gets contract from KÖKSAN in Turkey

BERLIN, GERMANY: KOKSAN PET PACKAGING INDUSTRY CO has awarded a contract to Uhde Inventa-Fischer to build a new plant for the production of high-quality PET in Gaziantep, Turkey. The plant will use Uhde Inventa-Fischer’s proprietary patented MTR technology to produce 216,000 tonnes of resin a year. A further investment for a second identical line is expected to be successfully finalized soon. The plant is designed to produce various grades of resin. With the new plant, the company is aiming to become the leading manufacturer of PET resin in Turkey.

Uhde Inventa-Fischer’s scope of supplies and services includes the licence, basic and detail engineering, supply of all major plant equipment and supervision of the erection and commissioning activities. The MTR process eliminates the SSP and leads to substantial energy savings. It reduces investment, operating and maintenance costs, has a higher raw material yield and results in products of superior quality. The MTR process is based on Uhde Inventa-Fischer’s proprietary 2-Reactor technology which uses the patented ESPREE and DISCAGE reactors to obtain the desired high melt viscosities.
