Prague Czech Republic: Unipetrol said that it has awarded the German company Linde Engineering with a major package consisting of engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) for the reconstruction of the damaged facility in Zaluzi.
In turn, Technip will be responsible for delivering some technological components such as four new pyrolysis furnaces for the unit.
According to the schedule, the unit which was damaged during the accident on 13 August is planned to be put into full operation in October 2016. The restart of partial operation at the ethylene unit (at 65 percent), including related petrochemical production and increase of the capacity utilization of Litvinov refinery, is planned in July 2016.
“We are doing our maximum in order to put the ethylene unit into operation in the shortest possible term. The involvement of internationally recognized and experienced companies Linde and Technip is a quality guarantee of repair works and should maximally contribute to compliance with a set schedule,” said Marek Switajewski, chairman and CEO of Unipetrol.
