World Diabetes Day 2013 - diabetes education and prevention

SINGAPORE: World Diabetes Day (WDD) celebrated on 14 November every year is an annual campaign led by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and its member associations. It engages millions of people worldwide in diabetes advocacy and awareness. The theme for this year’s WDD is Diabetes Education and Prevention.

On this occasion, the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) is releasing the latest IDF Diabetes Atlas containing new estimates on the global and regional prevalence of the diabetes pandemic. The latest figures confirm that diabetes is on the increase in all countries but that we have solutions to challenge the disease. World Diabetes Day is part of our response to the diabetes pandemic and the chance to raise awareness in unison with communities all over the world.
