Nagarjuna University was founded in 1976. It is in the region of Namburu, Guntur, and Andhra Pradesh, India. It is one of the major universities in the country covering many colleges and institutes of districts in the region. The Department of Biochemistry & Chemistry was founded in 1977. Before starting these courses, priority in providing necessary space with properly constructed laboratories, class rooms, chemicals, glassware and basic equipment were taken care of. The course sustained the infantile problems and grew to the present status as very Strong teaching and research department in the University. The department consists of qualified faculty. The department offers M.Sc.Bio-Chemistry degree. The Department of Chemistry, Nagarjuna University was the erstwhile Department of Chemistry of Andhra University Post Graduate Centre established in 1967. The department has three specializations: Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry & Inorganic Chemistry. The department consists of qualified faculty for teaching and carrying out research. The department offers M.Sc Chemistry in three specializations besides research programmes leading to M.Phil and Ph.D degrees.
