Alfred University

Alfred University was founded in 1836. It is one of the first coeducational institutions in the U.S. It is located in Alfred, New York, a village in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains about an hour west of Corning, an hour and a half south of Rochester and two hours from Buffalo.The university offers undergraduate and graduate courses. Faculty members are dedicated to teaching and advising. The American Chemical Society has given its approval to Alfred University's program. The chemistry department offers majors and minor programs in chemitry. Laboratories are well equipped with computer-controlled, research-grade instruments.
