The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki was founded in 1925. It is among the oldest and most prestigious higher educational institution of Greece. The university is located in the city of Thessaloniki. It is the largest university in Greece and in the Balkans. The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various study areas. The Faculty of Science was founded in 1925, along with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The School of Chemistry within the faculty of Science provides teaching and research training in a wide variety of disciplines related to chemistry. The Faculty of Engineering was founded 1955. The Faculty of Engineering has contributed significantly to research and teaching in Greece, has recommended solutions in order to address educational problems and has promoted education reform and democratization. Within a few years, the schools were founded as part of the Faculty of Engineering. The School of Chemical Engineering at the faculty of engineering was founded in 1972. The School of Chemical Engineering was divided into four Departments, the teaching staff of which are responsible for the main educational, scientific and research activities carried out at the School.
