Bloomfield College

Bloomfield College was founded in 1868. It is an independent four year, co-educational college located in the New Jersey-New York metropolitan region. The College offers academic programs leading to a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and a Master of Science degrees. Students and professors collaborate, creating a culture of discovery and mutual respect that is rare at the collegiate level. It is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Its academic programs are approved by the New Jersey Commission on Higher Education. The mission of Bloomfield College is to prepare students to attain academic, personal and professional excellence in a multicultural and global society. The Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics offers majors and minor programs in chemistry. A mauor in chemistry consists of two General Chemistry and Biochemistry. Both tracks also provide strong preparation for students wishing to attend graduate school. A minor in Chemistry consists of two General Chemistry course units and two Organic Chemistry course units, and three additional upper-level courses, two of which have laboratory components, chosen in consultation with the chemistry faculty.
