Center College

Centre College was founded in 1819. It is a private liberal arts college located in Danville, Kentucky.The College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the Bachelor of Arts degree and Bachelor of Science degree. The Chemistry Program offers both Major and Minor courses and three degree options are the basic chemistry major, the major with American Chemical Society certification and the major with emphasis in biochemistry. The Chemistry program seeks to provide students with an understanding of chemical principles that enable them to solve routine or unusual problems in the areas of analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry. Students also gain basic laboratory skills and the ability to select and utilize appropriate instrumentation to solve specified investigative problems. Centre’s major program in chemical physics serves students who have strong interests in overlapping subfields of chemistry and physics. Centre’s program in biochemistry and molecular biology (BMB) is designed to provide a solid introduction to the cellular and molecular fundamentals of life.
