College at New Paltz was founded in 1828. The college is committed to providing high quality, affordable education to students from all social and economic backgrounds. The College is fully accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and is approved as a degree-granting institution by the Trustees of the State University of New York and the Regents of New York State. The department of chemistry offers the undergradaute and graduate courses in chemistry. Chemistry majors participate in undergraduate research with a faculty member. Laboratories are with modern instruments. Chemistry curriculum is certified by the American Chemical Society (ACS).
